Dedari to Mount Charlotte See & Do
The present Coolgardie Cemetery was first used in November 1894 and provides a chronicle of the town’s history. The explorer Ernest Giles is buried here, as are a number of Afghan cameleers.
The headstones record tales of murder, of young men dying far from their families, of small children dying of typhoid and brave young women who came to the Goldfields to nurse the sick. Be sure to see Jack Carins’ grave.
