Cummins Theatre

This amazing theatre was built in 1928 largely from bricks salvaged from several old Coolgardie hotels. The theatre’s stage, decking, pressed metal ceiling, proscenium arch and fully imported oregon wooden fly tower and seating were originally part of the Tivoli Theatre which opened in Coolgardie in 1897.

Today Cummins Theatre holds a variety of touring productions and theatrical performances throughout the year.  Catch a show while you are in Merredin.

Old Town Hall

The original hall and Roads Board office was a wooden building erected in 1913. In 1924-5 an ambitious program began to renovate the hall. A new brick section was constructed at the front with a clock tower housing a clock made by the same company who manufactured London’s “Big Ben”.

Offices were added along the east wall in 1944 and the western end of the building was remodelled in 1958. The fine art deco courthouse alongside was opened in 1934.
